Our beginner & recreational gymnastics programme is suitable for children who have never done any gymnastics before and for those who want to do gymnastics as a fun hobby to keep fit, without the pressure of competitions.

We group the sessions by age 4-7yrs ,8yrs+ and 12yrs+ . The children are then grouped by age/ability within the session.

We do have a club uniform for these classes, but it is optional and gymnasts may wear their own leotard/shorts to train in.

During these classes, children work towards the UK Gymnastics Proficiency Award Scheme, where they earn a certificate and badge for each level they pass starting from level 14 up to level 1.

The children in these groups also have the opportunity to take part in our annual In-House Floor & Vault competition where they learn a short floor routine and perform 2 vaults in front of an audience and have the chance to win medals and certificates. We do require participants in these events to wear either the club uniform or wear the club colours which are black & red. This is completely optional for beginner & recreational gymnasts.

***BEGINNER classes run alongside Derby City Council school term dates and are payable in advance of a term. Due to extremely high demand, we cannot offer trial sessions and classes must be booked in a block advance payment.

*** RECREATIONAL classes are full time and run continously throughout the year except for 2 weeks at Christmas when we close. Payments for these classes are by monthly standing order and should be received by the 4th of every month. Please note the 2 week shutdown is taken into account when calculating monthly fees.
